73 Software Companies, SEO Changes @ Google, and Watching our Analytics

The first 3 months of SimpleSaaS was mainly pushing a wide range of niche web application over many business and consumer markets. They tended to cluster in businesses logging applications as they were honestly just in line with my interest and business experience.

Now, we are about 120 days into it and I have stepped back from the relentless daily launching of new apps. Watching the analytics and tweaking the web apps that are showing some signs of life is where most of my concentration tends to be lately. Honestly, this might be a bit premature as most of these apps are so new they haven’t even moved out of the Search Engine Sandbox. I am getting some direct traffic from some of the targeted keyword blog post I have been posting. The analytics and accurately tracking real-people traffic is still a challenge. Separating the bot traffic from qualified business people is much harder than I assumed.

As a single developer I don’t mind concentrating on smaller markets. This is helping as the niche business records markets I am chasing are too small for the big software players. I am replacing spreadsheets not software platforms. Almost all of my apps are designed to be used with a mobile phone.

Google has changed the search algorithm sometime in the last few weeks and I am trying to wrap my head around the transition from Search Engine optimization and moving toward the Generative Engine Optimization now that everything is using the AI search results. The content is pretty much the same but the way it is presented is a bit different.

The irritating thing is the lag between changes I make to the system and the wait to see the results.
