Proper integration OF AI into Work Apps

Proper integration OF AI into Work Apps

These last few days I have been working on integrating AI into work apps in a way that is safe, scoped, and useful. Seems to be a more useful endeavor than sitting around wondering if a humanoid robot is going to be delivering the mail in 6 months.

My personal view is that AI is wildly useful if you give it a very specific job with very specific instructions with the right infromation to allow it to make the right decision every time given the same inputs. This means that the model needs to produce the same results if the model runs dozens of times. An Ai model that gives a different result every time it runs is less than useful.

My current scope is using it in the scanning and making assumptions based on the real data it is fed. Things like expense tracking or determining advertising usefulness is a straight numbers call and is an absolutely good case for AI automation and feedback. Using it where it has an opinion, not so much I think. I think we should take everything it says with a grain of salt but there seems to be more useful information coming from data analytics over ethical questions. Too many were trained on Reddit data.

I am more hesitant to include it where the possibility of a hallucination can cause real damage. I dont want an app that tracks vehicle maintenance telling some mechanic somewhere that everything is fine just send that firetruck out with no oil, im sure everything will work out. I am more comfortable with it comparing and contrasting last quarters advertising revenue against this months ARPU metrics. That is a bit more useful and less open to a determination not grounded in math.

I will continue to play with it a bit more before I integrate it into a production launched app but I have it in a few I am testing now. Interesting builds to be sure. I built one that translates and narrates classic literature into a Foreign language learning application. Fascinating build but its a bit premature for Alpha launch. I will keep iterating and see in the future
